Today I take my last look at this PC before it gets sent out to whoever ends up winning the giveaway. I’ve put together literally hundreds of PC’s before but this one was special.
1. Preparing the Package
Step 1 involved finding a good box that is a few inches bigger length, width, and height-wise than the retail box the case came in. This double-box method ensures room for packing peanuts and extra protection from drops and dents.
Fortunately, packing peanuts are fairly cheap and you can get your hands on a big bag of them for around $10.
What I essentially do with the foam is add a few extra inches of protection around the box within the box.
2. Preparing the PC
First impressions are everything, and I like to clean the computer a bit before sending it off to its new home. I carefully check for fingerprints and smudges, especially around areas with tempered glass.
I also checked for any smudges or markings on the aluminum front and rear panels and polished them to give them that extra shine.
Pack all cables and accessories in the box along with the PC, and you’re ready to go.
3. Final Touches
A special giveaway for a special PC won’t be special at all without the ARDENT logo custom-branded onto the box!
I asked my brother for some spray paint and printed out a design that I’ll eventually cut out to act as a template for when I spray paint the logo onto the box.
Aaaaaaaand not bad for my first time spray painting! It almost looks official hehe.
It’s now time to put the box inside the bigger box and fill in the empty spaces with packing peanuts.
4. Preparing For Shipment
As another layer of security, I like to fix “fragile” warning stickers on the box. They won’t guarantee anything, but at least the drivers know to be a a little more careful with the box.
And voila! Project SCARLETT is ready for shipment!
